In 2022, my team and I launched Kosekai, an NFT project inspired by our shared love for Japanese animation and art.

As the creative and art director, as well as the principal illustrator, I led the visual development of the collection—bringing a distinctive, hand-crafted aesthetic to life during the height of the NFT wave.

The process began with developing initial concept art, where I explored various illustration and lineart styles to define the visual language of the project. My focus was on creating a framework that was not only visually compelling but also scalable and consistent across the 1000+ generative variations.

Next, I designed the logo with the goal of achieving a minimal and clean aesthetic that would complement the anime-inspired visuals of the project. The final mark was crafted to feel modern yet aligned with the stylized, illustrative world of Kosekai.

03 Asset Creation + NFT Generation

03 Asset Creation + NFT Generation

With the concept and branding finalized, the next phase involved illustrating the hundreds of individual assets, including hairstyles, eyes, weapons, and accessories, needed for NFT generation. This stage required careful organization, so we created layered Photoshop master files for each asset category. These structured files enabled our developer to efficiently code and produce over 1000 unique Kosekai variations.
